I’ve been without wifi now for several days. I’ve felt completely naked and alone. In the meantime, I’ve had to pay to use a desktop computer in the lobby of my latest hostel, which just truly illustrates the degree of my dependency on the Internet. I think the computers have Windows 98 on them. This is real.
This is it: the final 5 days of Berlin round 1. It should be interesting and action packed, considering a friend of mine is having a birthday party that promises to be absolutely insane. If this ends up being my last post, you’ll have to find your photographs of sandwiches elsewhere. Sorry.
Someone in a spirit animal cap is doing a photoshoot in front of a bulletin board for no reason whatsoever.
Let’s get going. Jesus. Or, let’s get going, Jesus, which is how I begin every trip up the 5 when I’m driving alone.
Took one last stroll around East and Southish Berlin for the time being. Chances are I’ll be back there in a few days, but wanted to get it out of the way in case something different ends up happening. I just felt like doing this. Nothing else drove me. (I read that Banksy had done a bunch of shit in this area around 2004, and I went looking for it. It’s all gone for the most part. This is stuff I found that I thought was cool. There. You happy?)

This is the area I walked through.
I won’t try to name the park or anything. I’ve been notified by a German of some geographical inaccuracies on this blog, so I’ll just resort to posting images without captions if I’m not 100% sure of where I am in the photo. This one is definitely captioned “Park” in my notes.
Have been getting a bit American with my meals lately. Delicious beer devotees will notice an Anchor Steam there in the second photo. The first one is a “Chili” burger. Turns out Chili means something different here. The last photo is an example of the sandwiches I’ve been raving about: pre-made, but fresh. The bread is the kicker. Incredible.

My newest hostel is right around the corner from a few things I’ve wanted to check out. After a particularly harrowing couple of days due to sickness, I decided to take a stroll today to the Natural History Museum by way of the Dorotheenstadt cemetery. Despite being the oldest non-parent in the museum by at least 15 years, I can get giddy around dinosaur fossils as well as the rest of them.

That’s Fichte.

I was yelled at by an older German security guard for touching a door knob that was beneath a sign that said “Do Not Touch Doorknob” in German. Language barrier is having its way with me. Rather than try to figure it out, I just walked away without saying anything. I don’t think I broke eye contact as I stepped away.

That’s the end for tonight. Rick Perry.
